About Me
Hi there, I'm so glad you're here.
I'm a Southern girl at heart, born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, with plenty of time spent in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and a stretch down in Louisiana—Monroe and Baton Rouge, to be exact. These places shaped my roots, my voice, and my deep belief in the power of connection, storytelling, and resilience.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent years in academia as a professor of Educational Psychology, teaching, researching, and publishing at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and later at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. That chapter of my life gave me a rich foundation in how people learn, grow, and heal—and it continues to inform the work I do every day in the therapy room. It also set the stage for my current practice to be founded upon evidence-based practices and using data to assess progress and refinement needs.
I eventually found my way to Lincoln, Nebraska—not just because I fell in love with the charm of this community, but also because I may have fallen for a local. Together, we've blended our families into one vibrant, slightly chaotic, and deeply loving crew. I’m the proud mom of two beautiful, scary-smart, independent, and wonderfully sassy daughters. Add in his son and two daughters, and you’ve got quite an energetic household. We’re also supervised by a cat named Baby Kitty (don't ask—it’s a long story) and a loyal and very hungry bulldog named Rocko.
In both my personal and professional life, I believe healing happens in safe, genuine relationships—and I strive to create that kind of space for every client I work with. Whether you're navigating big life changes, past wounds, or just feeling a bit lost, I'm here to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and maybe even a little humor.
My Approach to Therapy
Therapy with me starts with a good dose of curiosity—mine about you. In our first couple of sessions, we’ll be in “20 Questions” mode, as I gather the basics of your story, your history, and what’s bringing you in. From there, we’ll work on building a strong, trusting relationship—because real healing happens when you feel safe, seen, and connected.
Once we’ve laid that foundation, we’ll tailor a treatment plan that supports your personal healing and growth goals. My approach is flexible, but I often draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and inner child work. I like to think of myself as an eclectic therapist—one who pulls from different tools to meet your unique needs.
Whether you're looking for relief, insight, or transformation, we’ll move at your pace and do it together.
What I Can Help With

My approach is non-religious, but I’m here for all parts of you—including the spiritual—if they’re part of your journey, they are important to me.
